The 21-year-old Thomas became the second-youngest player ever to score 40 points in consecutive NBA games. The youngest? LeBron James. Then, when he scored 24 points in the first half Tuesday night, he became the first player to score 20 points or more in four consecutive halves, also since James. In the second half, he scored only 19 to end the streak.
With Kyrie Irving gone and Kevin Durant injured, Thomas has been on fire, but the Nets have gone 1-2, losing to the Clippers and Suns. But Thomas, the 27th pick in the 2021 draft, is emerging as a legitimate scorer, and he might help reassure Durant about the direction of the Nets franchise.
He's also now the best LSU alumnus on the Nets as well.
In the last 2.5 games Cam Thomas scored as many points as Ben Simmons did in his last 18 games

Next up? Passing Allen Iverson and his five straight 40-point games in 1997.

Thomas seemed excited to match LeBron's feat, but ultimately, he's a "Kobe guy."
Asked Cam Thomas about him joining LeBron James as the two youngest players in NBA history to score 44 points in consecutive games:

“That’s great company... I’m a Kobe guy though, so if you said Kobe I would’ve been a little more excited.” pic.twitter.com/fIpe96D708
